Breaking news from Le Mans! Mazda announces SKYACTIV-D Clean Diesel engine for the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans.

 

Dempsey Racing plans to be first customer for the new engine. From our official press release:

 

June 16, 2012 (LE MANS, FRANCE) Mazda Motorsports today announced that it will sell racing versions of its new SKYACTIV-D CLEAN DIESEL engines to teams competing in the Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) class of racing’s greatest endurance challenge ? the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Le Mans engine program will make its debut at the 2013 running of the race. Mazda was the first ? and to this day, remains the only ? Asian manufacturer to score an overall win at the race, in 1991.

 

“This reopens our love affair with Le Mans,” said Jay Amestoy, Vice President of Mazda Motorsports, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO). “In 1991 we made history, winning with rotary technology. Now we’re looking to return to the winner’s circle with what we believe will be the most advanced and cleanest production-based powerplant the sport has ever seen. We’ll do it in current Mazda style, with engines being available for sale to European and U.S. customers competing in the LMP2 class for both the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the American Le Mans Series (ALMS).”

 

The engines are being developed jointly by Mazda Motor Corporation, Mazda North American Operations and SpeedSource Race Engineering. Dyno testing has already begun and on-track testing begins in late 2012.

 

The engines will be stock-block Mazda SKYACTIV-D 2.2-liter diesel four-cylinder, dual-stage turbocharged powerplants. According to John Doonan, MNAO’s Director of Mazda Motorsports, “will deliver outstanding performance and fuel economy coupled with the kind of quality, durability and reliability needed to produce great street cars and win endurance races.”

 

Mr. Masahiro Moro, Executive Officer in charge of global sales and marketing of Mazda Motor Corporation, made the following comment: "Mazda has fostered the culture of 'never stop challenging.' And it was this spirit that drove us through 18 consecutive years of racing at Le Mans, until we finally triumphed in 1991. In fact, it is this same spirit that laid the foundation for the portfolio of SKYACTIV Technologies. This was realized thanks to a number of technological breakthroughs. I am pleased that we will be supporting our private customers who are taking up the Le Mans challenge by supplying race engines as a customer-program based on our SKYACTIV-D CLEAN DIESEL."

Planning and preparations continue for Dempsey Racing to become the first LMP2 customer for the Mazda SKYACTIV-D racing powerplant. Dempsey Racing is co-owned by racer/actor Patrick Dempsey.

 

Dempsey Racing has been racing Mazda RX-8s in the GRAND-AM GT class since 2007 with their highlight being a podium finish at the 2011 Rolex 24 at Daytona. The team has steadily improved their on-track performance since their arrival in the series, and was a key contributor to Mazda winning the 2010 GRAND-AM GT Manufacturers Championship. With support from several partners such as VISITFLORIDA.com, Dempsey Racing expanded their operation this year to include a team running in the American Le Mans Series, and is competing in both the Prototype Challenge (LMPC) and Prototype 2 (LMP2) classes as they prepare for their Le Mans effort. In fact both team owner Dempsey and co-driver Joe Foster are currently testing their LMP2 car in Virginia as the rest of the sports car world focuses on the 80th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend.

 

Patrick Dempsey and his business partner/co-driver Joe Foster have both competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as drivers in the GT category, and are eager to return in 2013, this time in the LMP2 class and with Mazda SKYACTIV-D clean diesel-power.

 

Patrick Dempsey comments “Our long-term partnership with Mazda has been fantastic, and we look forward to mutual success as we prepare for 2013.     • Kaj pa če je na izmenično.    Jaz bi rekel da je nekje slaba masa.
    • Vse je v debelini podkožne tolšče.
    • Jaz imam celo leto 24°C v hiši. Plus minus 1°C. Pozimi me pri manj zebe, več je prevroče. Poleti je pa ravno prav, ko je zunaj kakšnih 30°C. Pa še vlago zbijem poleti, ki je glavni problem.   Zdaj že kar malo čakam na kamin, to je super. Ko je zunaj mrzlo pa ogenj gori.
    • A je to resno vprašanje?   Prvo nedvoumno zaprosilo konec februarja 2022, uradno pa mislim, da septembra istega leta. Pred tem pa je Ukrajina še v začetku tega tisočletja, ko je prvič jasno izrazila interes za vključitev, čeprav bi s tem povozila obljubo o evtralnosti, ki jo je v začetku 90-ih dala zako zahodu kot RF.    Tam nekje med 2008 in 2010 je uradno dobila tudi zagotovilo NATA, da bo postala polnopravna članica.  Po tem so Ukrajinci izvolili Janukoviča, ki je bil manj zahodno usmerjen in je držal Ukrajino kot nevtralno državo, do leta 2014, ko bi moral nadaljevati z oblastjo in nevtralno držo Ukrajine pa zahodu to ni bilo všeč in je skupaj z opozicijo izvedel državni udar ter nasilno menjavo oblasti.   Kar je povzročilo, da so v parlament in v koalicijo prišle neonacistične skupine ali stranke, kot je Azovski bataljon in Desni sektor. Pred letom 2022 jih je zahod obravnaval kot skrajnodesničarski teroristični organizaciji, po februarju 2022 pa jih zahod čez noče prekvalificira v desne demokrate. Če ne verjameš pejt preverit kaj so o njih pisali pred letom 2022 recimo Guardian, New York Times, BBC, pa tudi pri nas Delo, Mladina, Dnevnik. Upam, da so članki še vedno dostopni.  Lahko pa si tudi pogledate izjave teh neonacijev, kaj bodo delali z Rusko manjšino in tudi prvi zakoni o prepovedi uporabe ruščine in drugih pravic manjšin je povzročilo posledično zasedbo Krim, kot zaščitni ukrep in tudi kot varovanje večinskega ruskega prebivalstva    Krim itak vemo da je za časa SZ bil del Rusije do leta 1954, ko ga je Hruščov in takratno vodstvo vzelo Rusiji in dodelilo Ukrajinski socialistični republiki kot del praznovanja 300 letnice osvoboditve Ukrajine izpod Poljske nadvlade. Ja takrat je bilo vseeno, čigavo je kej kot je bilo recimo pri nas vseeno za časa juge a meja med Slovenijo poteka na reki Dragonji ali na reki Mirni.   V glavnem, po tem puču se je začela državljanska vojna med Rusko manjšino in Ukrajinsko državo. Nova prozahodna usmeritev oblasti je z zakonom odpravila nevtralnost in spet obudila željo po članstvu v NATU. Nekje v letu 2017 ali 2018 je parlament članstvo v NATU zastavil kot glavni cilj Ukrajinske zunaje politike. Katerega je z vsemi štirimi podpiral tako NATO sam, kot predvsem ZDA. Stoltenbergove izjave kako se nima ukrajina kej pogovarjat s sosedi a bo čalnica al ne pa so ratale tud dodatni kamenčki v mozaiku.    Kaj bi pomenila Ukrajina v NATU z raketami na pragu Rusije je bil tudi en izmed glavnih povodov, za Ruski napada februarja 2022.   Verjetno vam je vsem znano, da se NATU ne more priključiti država, ki je v vojni oziroma nima urejenih odnosov s sosedi. To je namreč en od glavnih kriterijev članstva. Pri ostalih kriterijih se da zamižat pa gredo skozi kot recimo pri tem, da mora bit demokratična država, pa tržno gospodarstvo, pa nadzor civilne sfere nad oboroženimi silami. Če zamižijo na obe oči in ker smatra zahod Rusijo kot manjvredno državo, Ruse pa kot podljudi bi šlo skozi tudi kot pogoj o varovanju človekovih pravic.   Dejansko je torej Rusija bila skoraj prisiljena v intervencijo, ker samo po enem členu pristopnih pogojev bi lahko ustavila Ukrajino pred vstopom v NATO in namestitvijo jedrskega orožja na mejo z Rusijo. Ja verjamem, da se bost nekateri smejali tej izjavi, ampak zadeva ni smešna.   Ne glejte zadeve samo s strani zahoda, ampak glejte zadevo s strani zgodovine, geopolitičnih želja in zahtev. Vpliv, ohranjanja dolarja kot rezervne valute, nadzor nad energenti, ohranjanje NATA kot organizacije, tako da slikajo Rusijo vedno kot nasprotnika in nikoli partnerja pa čeprav je RF na začetku Putinovega vladanja bila pripravljena stopiti v skupno zavezništvo NATA pa so jo odslovili, ker bi NATO izgubil edini smisel obstoja in to je konstanten strah pred Rusijo, kar vidim tudi v izjavah nekaterih tu na forumu.   Drugače pa ja, zahod je v zgodovini vedno hotel razkosati Rusijo še iz časov carske Rusije in kar nekaj vojn in konfliktov in ekpedicijski vdorov je bilo, da bi razkosali ali vsaj razdelili Rusijo. Ja tud ob padcu carske Rusije in oktobrsko revolucijo so poskušali pomagati belim silam proti boljševikom v državljanski vojni ter tako poskušali povzročiti razpad Rusije. Zanimivo branje o tem na tej diplomski nalogi http://dk.fdv.uni-lj.si/diplomska/pdfs/kocar-gal.pdf   In to se vleče praktično do danes pa je medtem Rusija pomagala zaveznikom in ustavila nacistično nemčijo, pa kasneje se je ukinil varšavski pakt in t.i vzhodni blok, pa je razpadla tud Sovjetska Zveza, zahod pa še vedno išče v Rusiji nasprotnika. To pač drži NATO pri življenju pa bi le ta moral ukinit natančno takrat, ko je razpadel Varšavski pakt.   V glavnem še 1x... zgodovina se ni začela februarja 2022, kot se zmotno misli.
    • Jaz imam poleti najraje 21-22°...odvisno,ali kaj delaš,kuhaš,ali polezavaš pred TV...zna biti razlika... Pozimi pa imamo zmeraj na cca.22°. je pa res,da sem tudi pozimi zelo pogosto z kratko majico in nič čez.   Moram pa omeniti taščo...pri starejših je drugače,ker imajo večinoma slabšo cirkulacijo krvi...imajo večinoma raje topleje...tašča ima poleti pogosto na 23-25°...večinoma na 25°...pozimi pa na 23°. Npr. "prijatelj od tašče"k je čist "suhcan in droben",in ima 83 let,ima najraje,da je klima ugasnjena oz. mu je 25° lih komaj za zdržati...pa ima tašča tudi Mitsubishijevo MSZ-LN,ki obrača tok zraka pri hlajenju stran od vira toplote-človeka...pomeni,da nikoli ne piha direkt v ljudi.
